6 months in VA beach!

Hello everyone!

Another beautiful week in Virginia!!💕 This week we got transfer calls...Sister Grover and I will be staying together for another transfer in the Tidewater YSA branch! I'm super excited to stay here for the Holidays! This will make 6 months in Virginia Beach!

KAYLA IS ON DATE
One thing that I've learned on my mission is that this truly is the Lord's work! He has a plan for each of his children and knows each of us perfectly! At the beginning of the transfer President Droubay challenged us to put someone on date by the end of the transfer. At the time he invited us to do that we didn't have anyone we were teaching who was ready to make that commitment. But we had faith it could happen, we prayed and worked hard and let the Lord guide us everyday. A few weeks ago we got a referral for a girl named Kayla! Her story is amazing! We started teaching her and she is so prepared for the gospel! Yesterday after church we had a lesson with her and invited her to be baptized on December 18th. The Spirit was so strong and she said getting baptized is something she knows she needs to do! It was so amazing!

ELDER & SISTER BENNETT
Wow this week was a spiritual high!! Elder and Sister Bennett (Area presidency of the North America North East Area) did a mission tour in the VRM! We had a meeting with them on Tuesday and a MLC with them on Friday! I feel so uplifted and inspired on what I can do better! I learned so much and truly can't describe the Spirit that I have felt! At the end of our meeting on Tuesday they gave us some time to stand and share what we are committing to do after such an amazing spiritual meeting! I felt so much love for each and every missionary as they stood and committed to do better and be better! Words can't describe the joy that comes from serving a mission!

INFINITE & INTIMATE
One thing that really hit me this week from our 2 meeting with Elder Bennett is how personal the Atonement of Jesus Christ is. Something he said that really hit me was, "The Atonement is infinite, but it is also intimate" when he said that I felt in a very real and personal way that the Lord loves me. If you are struggling with anything please get on your knees and let the Atonement work in your life! The Lord knows you and loves you!

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT
What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus Christ?
-->"The word disciple comes from the Latin [meaning] a learner. A disciple of Christ is one who is learning to be like Christ—learning to think, to feel, and to act as he does. To be a true disciple, to fulfill that learning task, is the most demanding regimen known to man. No other discipline compares … in either requirements or rewards. It involves the total transformation of a person from the state of the natural man to that of [a] saint, one who loves the Lord and serves with all of his heart, might, mind, and strength’ (Chauncey C. Riddle, ‘Becoming a Disciple,’ Ensign, Sept. 1974, 81)

I love that this says a disciple is a learner. To be a disciple of Jesus Christ doesn't mean that we are perfect. It means that we are trying, we are making mistakes and we are LEARNING to be a little better everyday.

I love y'all so much!! Have a wonderful week! Keep doing your best and let God do the rest! ;)
