Hello everyone!!
I hope y'all have had a wonderful week and enjoyed General Conference! It's been another crazy week here in Virginia!!
TRANSFER NEWS
Transfers are this Wednesday! Sister Thomas has reached the end of her mission so she is headed home on Thursday! I will be getting transferred to a new area and Elders are taking over our area. I'm sad to be leaving Newtown. I have absolutely loved serving here! But I'm so excited to have a new area and meet more amazing people!
EXCHANGES
We had exchanges with the Princess Anne Sisters this week! I love them so much!! I was with Sister West, she is such an incredible missionary!! We had a super fun day together! We did some service and harvested sweet potatoes, I caught a frog and we found a cute family for them to start teaching! So fun! Another cool miracle happened while we were driving back from exchanges. We were talking about the reality that it is hard to find people to teach sometimes. Right in the middle of our conversation we got a text...it was a referral for a lady that referred herself and asked for missionaries to go see her! God will always listen to our prayers!!
VOLLEYBALL NIGHT
This week we had a fun activity with all the young couples in our ward. We have tons of cute newly married couples in our ward and none of them know each other so we set up a fun activity! We all went to the church and played volleyball together! And a few of them brought some of their non-member friends! It was a blast! I felt like I was back in high school playing volleyball with all my friends! So fun!
BARNES FAMILY
We started teaching a cute part member family this week! They even came to the women's session of conference!! Their 10 year old daughter isn't baptized and I love her so much! She's a dancer and she is always showing us new routines she has made up. Sister Thomas and I were both dancers back in the day so we were teaching her how to do pirouettes and leaps after our lesson the other day!! I love this family!!
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT
I hope y'all were able to watch General Conference this week!! It was so good! Throughout every session I was reminded how much JOY comes from the Gospel!! One of my favorite talks was by Dieter F. Uchtdorf. I loved when he said, "Remember that Discipleship isn't about doing things perfectly, it is about doing things INTENTIONALLY" I loved that!! God knows that none of us are perfect, he doesn't expect perfection. He just wants us to do the best we can and always strive to be better. We will find true happiness as we strive to become more like the Savior each day!
