Hello wonderful friends and family!!

I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!!! This week I have been full of so much gratitude for all of the incredible experiences I get to have each day. Missions are the best. Period. This week I hit my 1 year mark! I can't believe it's been 12 months since I entered the MTC. This past year has been the happiest year of my life. I have met so many of my best friends, strengthened my testimony in so many ways and seen countless miracles! One year down, six months to go!

ZONE CONFERENCE

We had zone conference this week and it was so good! We had lots of amazing trainings and I learned so much! Also, President Droubay has worked in the mission department, so we got to see a little sneak peek of this year's Light the World campaign and the new missionary handbook! Good things are in store! ;)

MOVE IN...MOVE OUT

Last Monday we got a call from the Office Elders telling us that we were moving and had to be out by Tuesday night! This was a blessing because our old apartment had slugs and cockroaches...Yikeso! So we spent all of Monday night packing up our apartment. On Tuesday right after zone conference we had 8 Elders help us move out of our old apartment and into a new one. AND it was pouring rain!! All of our stuff was soaking wet but we got it all moved! Our new apartment is so nice!! We spent a good portion of the next two days putting together our new apartment and deep cleaning our old one! It was insane. But now we have an apartment free of slugs and cockroaches!

EXCHANGES

We had exchanges with the Tidewater YSA Sisters this week. I was with Sister Mansfield. She is such a cutie! I was with her on her one month mark! So of course we got some Slurpees to celebrate! She is such a cutie and we had so much fun together! We saw lots of miracles and talked to some really awesome people!

"I'M IN THE HOSPITAL...BUT I'M STILL GETTING BAPTIZED"

We are teaching the sweetest lady ever named Robin. I have never met someone so prepared for the gospel. She is seriously so amazing! She was supposed to get baptized this Saturday but sadly we had to move the date to August 10th. While we were on exchanges on Friday we got a text from her saying: "I'm in the hospital, but don't worry i'm still getting baptized". Long story short...she's really sick! We called and talked to her and she asked for a blessing. We started calling everyone we could think of. Nobody was available but I felt a strong prompting to call Brother Willcoxon. I barely know who he is but I really felt like we needed to call him! He said he could come and WOW it was one of the coolest things ever! So he came in and talked about Priesthood blessings and bore his testimony. Then he gave Robin the most beautiful blessing. After the blessing was over Robin was balling. She said that earlier that day she had a vision that he was going to be the one to come give her a blessing. She said that she remembered him sharing his testimony at church and knew that he was going to be a major part of her life. Brother Willcoxon also expresses that he has been feeling like he doesn't have a purpose here because his family lives out west. He said that Robin is one of the reasons he needed to be here. It was such a special experience.

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT

Every night Sister Thomas and I say a gratitude prayer. It has been so cool to reflect and see all the things to be grateful for each day. Doing this has really helped me see the Lord's hand in the work. It has been so cool to see the miracles that happen when we are grateful for what we have. "How blessed we are if we recognize God’s handiwork in the marvelous tapestry of life. Gratitude to our Father in Heaven broadens our perception and clears our vision. It inspires humility and fosters empathy toward our fellowmen and all of God’s creation. Gratitude is a catalyst to all Christlike attributes!
