Some great LIFE advice
Michelle Larsen asked me for some advice for the graduating Laurels in the Peacefield Ward. This is what I sent her: (She said I "blew her socks off!") :)
Hello!! Oh it is so good to hear from you! I sure miss you!❤
First of all tell those cute Laurels that I love them!! And they have been blessed with the best leader out there! You're amazing! Here are a few things to answer those questions:
1)Do your best and let God do the rest!
This is something I tell myself every single day!! Something I have always struggled with is wanting to do everything "perfect". The reality is that none of us are perfect and we will all make mistakes in life! Learn to grow from those mistakes and become better because of them! All the Lord expects of us is to do the best we can. He wants us to work hard and do the right things. But when we fall short He will make up the difference. He will work miracles in your life if you let him!
2) Be happy!
Life is hard! And after High school it gets harder (but better too)! I've learned that it's so much easier to go through life with a smile on your face! Look for the positive in everything and don't let things get you down! I know that can be easier said than done ;) Find ways to relax and don't stress too much about things that don't matter! Remember that life is to be enjoyed, not just endured!
3) Do the little things
Something I have learned from college and a mission is to never fall away from doing the little things like scripture study, prayer, the temple and going to church every week! I've had friends that have fallen away from the church after High school and I think a big part is that they stopped doing those things. Make sure you take time to do these things and put the Lord first in everything you do! If you put the Lord first everything else will work out better in your life, I promise:)
I hope this can help! I sure miss you and everyone else back home! Thank you for your example and your love! I'm so grateful for you!! Let me know how the lesson goes! ❤
