Life is BEAUTIFUL!
Hello wonderful friends and family!
I hope ya'll enjoyed General Conference this weekend! I sure did! I absolutely LOVE General Conference! I'm so grateful for the chance we have every 6 months to learn from the Prophets and Apostles! I hope you will all take some time to really ponder the things that you have learned and apply those things into your life! I also encourage each of you to study Dieter F. Uchdorf's talk and really apply it into your life! #Everymemberamissionary
ALBERTO
Okay, we had the COOLEST miracle this week! We were supposed to have a lesson with Judy (the lady we found last week) on Wednesday. When we got there for the lesson she wasn't there but her son was. He was sitting outside watching his two little girls ride their bikes around. We got talking to him and he really opened up to us. He has gone through a lot in his life and recently just got out of rehab. He loves God and wants to strengthen his faith. I gave him a copy of the Book of Mormon and he was so excited about it! He started flipping through it and he stopped in Alma. He looked at us and said that he feels inspired to ask us who Alma is. We told him the story of Alma the younger and he told us that sounds a lot like his story. We ended up teaching him the whole restoration that night and the spirit was SO SO SO strong! It was an incredible lesson! He asked a lot of powerful questions and seems so prepared for the gospel. ANDDDDDDDD he came to watch General Conference with us yesterday! He said he really enjoyed it! He is going to the family history center this week and we have another lesson with him on Wednesday!! He's so cool!
ALL DISTRICT COUNCIL
This week we had all district council. Sister Daines and I had the opportunity to give a training about what it means to be a successful missionary. I really enjoyed doing this! We talked a lot about how the success of a missionary is based on our commitment and obedience, not the numbers. This was a good reminder for me! As long as we are committed to the work and doing the best that we can the Lord will be pleased with our efforts.
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT
This week I read a talk by Joseph B. Wirthlin titled "Sunday will come". I highly recommend reading this talk! I really enjoyed it! One of my favorite parts of it said:
"Each of us will have our own Fridays—those days when the universe itself seems shattered and the shards of our world lie littered about us in pieces. We all will experience those broken times when it seems we can never be put together again. We will all have our Fridays.
But I testify to you in the name of the One who conquered death—Sunday will come. In the darkness of our sorrow, Sunday will come.
No matter our desperation, no matter our grief, Sunday will come. In this life or the next, Sunday will come."
I love ya'll so much! I love serving the Lord and I love the amazing experiences I am having here in Virginia! Life truly is so BEAUTIFUL!! Have the best week! Keep smiling! Do your best and let God do the rest!
