Hello wonderful friends and family!π
I hope you all had a great week and a wonderful Easter! I know I sure did! Transfers are this Wednesday and we found out that I will be staying in Harrisonburg for another transfer and my dear friend Sister Daines will be leaving! I'm sure going to miss her! We have become really great friends throughout these last 6 weeks and I have learned so much from her! As we were walking through the church yesterday someone from another ward stopped us and just said "Ya'll are just the cutest companionship!" haha it made us laugh! I'm excited to spend another transfer in Harrisonburg! It is so beautiful up here and there are so many incredible people! :)
EASTER
Wow can I just say Easter this year was the best one yet! I love my Savior so much and felt His love so strong yesterday. I really tried to spiritually prepare myself for Easter this year and I felt the Spirit so strong! I've been really thinking about how the Savior truly suffered for each of us, individually. President Heber J. Grant spoke of this individual focus: "Not only did Jesus come as a universal gift, he came as an individual offering with a personal message to each one of us. For each one of us He died on Calvary and his blood will conditionally save us. Not as nations, communities or groups, but as individuals." Just as the Savior blessed little children, one by one (3 Nephi 17:21); just as the Nephites felt his wounds "one by one" (3 Nephi 11:15); just as he listens to our prayers one by one; so, perhaps, he suffered for us, one by one."
DISTRICT COUNCIL
District council this week was one of my very favorites ever! We had a big group discussion about the Spirit and how important the Spirit is in missionary work! Something that really stood out to me was that we all come out on missions with different talents and abilities. We all have different strengths and weaknesses and sometimes we all struggle. But the most important thing is that we have the Spirit with us and we follow the promptings we receive. This gives me a lot of comfort. I'm far from perfect and have so many weaknesses, but I am learning everyday how to follow the promptings of the Spirit. This is the Lords work, not our work. He will lead us where we need to be if we strive to be humble and listen to His promptings.
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT
The Savior loves us so much! That is something I have come to have such a strong testimony of. There is nothing we can do that will take this Love away. It is simply always there. Ezra Taft Benson spoke of this unquenchable love: "We may never understand nor comprehend in mortality how He accomplished what He did, but we must not fail to understand why He did what He did. All that He did was prompted by His unselfish, infinite love for us." This was the humble recognition of Nephi, who in response to the angel's query concerning the condescension of God replied, "I know that he loveth all of his children; nevertheless, I do not know the meaning of all things" (1 Nephi 11:17)." I hope you can all feel the love of the Savior in your life. If you can't, I challenge you to get on your knees and plead to feel that love. He loves you no matter what!
I love ya'll so much! I'm so grateful for each of you and the amazing examples you each are to me! Have a great week! Keep smiling! :)
