Hello wonderful friends and family!
It has been such a good week here in Harrisonburg! We have seen so many miracles and it is finally looking like spring! It is BEAUTIFUL up here with all the trees blooming! God is good!🌸
JUDY
Okay, miracle time!!!! So on Thursday night we were suppose to meet with a less active but the appointment fell through so we decided to go out tracting for a while. I felt really strongly that we needed to go to a certain neighborhood. The first 3 houses we knocked on no one answered. The 4th house we knock on this lady named Judy answered the door and let us right in. As we were talking to her we found out that her nephew is actually a member in our ward. She has been going through some hard things with her son and had seen her nephew change his life around and join the church. She said that this was a wake up call for her. She was eager to take a copy of the Book of Mormon! We went back yesterday for a lesson and I can honestly say it was one of the best lessons I have had on my mission! SHE IS SO PREPARED FOR THE GOSPEL!! She has had a lot of experiences prepare her and she really wants to know the truth! We have another lesson with her this week and she said she really wants to come watch General Conference with us this week! She is an incredible lady and she really wants the gospel in her life! Wow i'm so excited to her progress more in the gospel! She is such a miracle!!!!!!!
THE OTHER SISTER STRINGHAM
We had another crazy miracle happen this week! So last Sunday night we were driving home and we got a call from a random number. We answered it and the lady calling us asked if one of us was Sister Stringham. I was really confused how she knew who I was but I said yes. Turns out that she is a member in the Stanton ward and the Senior couple serving down there told her about me. They have a less active in their ward named Sister Stringham. She hasn't been to church in a long time but she really wanted to meet me and find out if we were related at all. Luckily we had exchanges down in Stanton on Tuesday so we set up a lunch appointment with her! It was so much fun! We were all sitting around the table looking at family history and seeing how we were related! Turns out she is my fourth cousin, twice removed! She is such a sweet lady with a really hard life. She doesn't feel worthy to go back to church so we were also able to teach her a little bit about the Atonement. It was a cool miracle to be able to meet her and help her feel Gods love!
EXCHANGES
We had Exchanges this week and I was with Sister Thomas! I love her so much! She is from Layton Utah! Haha small world! We didn't go to the same High School but we have a lot of mutual friends! She's an amazing missionary! She taught me so much and we had a lot of fun together! :)
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT
I have been reading the Infinite Atonement throughout the last few months! Every time I read it my testimony of the Savior grows so much! This week I was studying about Christ suffering for each of us. "Elder Merrill J. Bateman spoke not only of the Atonement's infinite nature, but also of its intimate reach, "The Savior's atonement in the garden and on the cross is intimate in that the Savior felt each person's pains, sufferings, and sicknesses. Since the Savior, as a God, has the capacity to simultaneously entertain multiple thoughts, perhaps it was not impossible for the mortal Jesus to contemplate each of our names and transgressions in concomitant fashion as the Atonement progressed, without ever sacrificing personal attention for any of us. His suffering need never lose its personal nature. While such suffering had both macro and micro dimensions, the Atonement was ultimately offered for each one of us". Think about that for a minute...Christ suffered for YOU. He knows exactly how to help you because He knows EXACTLY how you feel! I hope that especially during this Easter season you can all take some time to really ponder the Atonement of Jesus Christ. He loves you so much, please don't take the Atonement for granted.
I hope ya'll have a great week and enjoy watching General Conference this weekend! Take some time to really spiritually prepare yourself and I know you will receive guidance and direction for your personal lives. I love each of you so very much!
