"Pray...He is there, Speak...He is listening"
Hello Wonderful friends and family!
It's been another great week! :) I love Harrisonburg, I love Sister Daines and I love serving the Lord! Today I hit 8 months and I can't believe how fast time is going! It needs to slow down a little haha! I've felt so much pure joy in the last 8 months! Missions are really the best!💕
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT
Something I have gained a really strong testimony of on my mission is the power of prayer. The ability to pray is such an amazing gift that we have all been given. The last few weeks I've been really trying to find a way to make my prayers more meaningful. I decided I needed to start using a prayer journal. Every night I go into our study room with my scriptures and my prayer journal and say my prayer out loud. After i'm done praying I open the scriptures, start reading and record any thought or impressions I have in my prayer journal! I've had some very powerful experiences as I have started doing this! Our Heavenly Father wants to speak to us, we just need to listen! President Russell M. Nelson said:
"Pray in the name of Jesus Christ about your concerns, your fears, your weaknesses—yes, the very longings of your heart. And then listen! Write the thoughts that come to your mind. Record your feelings and follow through with actions that you are prompted to take. As you repeat this process day after day, month after month, year after year, you will “grow into the principle of revelation.”
ZONE CONFERENCE
We had zone conference this week and it was honestly one of my favorite zone conferences so far! I really tried my best to prepare spiritually for it and get in the right mindset to find ways to improve myself. We had lots of wonderful trainings on member missionary work, safeguards for technology, focusing on the constant during times of change, self mastery and my favorite part, EASTER! President and Sister Smith talked about Easter and the importance of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I'm so grateful for the Savior and everything that He did for each of us. I hope each of you can really take time this Easter season to ponder on the Atonement of Jesus Christ and what he sacrificed for you.
BLITZ AT JMU
This week we did a blitz on the James Madison University campus! It was a crazy experience....! It started out great, we were talking to some cool people and it was a beautiful day to be outside! Then a crazy rain/wind storm decided to join the party. We were soaking! And freezing! And nobody wanted to be outside and talk to us! But we tried our best and had a good time haha! Virginia weather is all over the place!
Thank you so much for all the Love and support! I love ya'll so very much! Have the best week ever! <3
