Missionary work is the best! :)
Hello Wonderful friends and family!
Another great week in Chickahominy! We saw lots of miracles this week and met some really amazing people! We went to a baptism this week for someone that Sister Georgeson taught a while back and I got to see Sister Cunningham there! That was a fun little surprise and it was so good to talk to her! I just love her!! :)
FIT FOR THE KINGDOM!
For the last month or so we have been doing "fit for the kingdom" as a mission! It was a competition between each of the zones and the Richomnd East zone won!! Woot woot!! So this afternoon we got a zone P-day and it was a blast! We had lunch and played some Oompa! (Ultimate frisbee with a football played on a basketball court)! It was so much fun and can I just say i'm getting pretty good at oompa haha! ;)
MEMBER MISSIONARY WORK
Okay members are the best missionaries!! We have been working with the members a lot and really helping them have a missionary experience! This week a sweet lady in our ward handed out 2 Books of Mormon and is talking to a few different friends about the gospel. Another member invited his inactive daughter and her husband who isn't a member to have dinner and a lesson with us! Another member invited her son and family who all aren't members to meet with us! And another member is talking to one of her friends about the gospel and is so excited to go on splits with us and teach people about the Restored gospel! As we were talking to someone about missionary work this week she said "i'm so excited I can't see straight". Missionary work is the most important thing to be doing and as members you have so many opportunities to share it with your friends and family!! I've loved helping these members to have missionary experiences and see their own person testimony and conversion grow! :)
EXCHANGES
We had exchanges this week and I was with Sister Kent! This is the 3rd transfer that she has been my STL so we have become pretty close! She's so cute and always gives the best advice! We had a cool miracle where we felt prompted to go try someone who was taught a few months ago. We went over to her house and she said she had just been praying for help right before we knocked on the door. We were able to say a prayer with her and set up a time to go back and teach her more! #miracles!
"EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OKAY"
This week I was able to learn something really important as we were teaching a lesson. We were talking with a lady who has a lot of struggles, she's lost all hope and doesn't know that the Lord loves her. As we were teaching her about the Plan of Salvation and particularly the Atonement of Jesus Christ I was able to really feel the Spirit touch my heart. I realized that no matter what happens in my life, no matter what trials, no matter what struggles, no matter what other people might say or do to me I KNOW that everything is going to be okay. The Lord loves us. More than we know and He just wants us to be happy. Sometimes it's hard to feel that joy when everything is going wrong in life. But because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ we don't have to worry. We can find that peace and happiness in the midst of trials and that's such a comfort to me! That lesson was one that I will always remember. I'm so grateful for the knowledge that I have of the gospel. Because of that I know that no matter what happens in life that Everything is going to be okay!
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT
This week i've been thinking a lot about how I can become the person that the Lord wants to me to become. C. S. Lewis explained God’s transforming power this way: “Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably. … [You see,] He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of. … You thought you were [being] made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.” I just love that! Sometimes it's hard to understand why certain things happen in life or why we have to go through trails. It's because the Lord knows what we can become! He knows our potential and we just need to recognize what we can become! :)
I love ya'll so much! I love being a missionary and i'm so grateful for the joy I feel each day as I share the gospel with others! Have the best week ever! And don't forget, "Do your best and let God do the rest!"
