Happy New Year!! :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

It's been another fantastic week here in Chickahominy! I just love being a missionary!! I love my area, I love my companion, I love the Lord, and I just couldn't be happier!! So this week we went to the airport haha! We had a lesson with a man named Michael and we took a member of our ward with us (Sister Thurber). Sadly Michael didn't show up but Sister Turber needed to go to the airport to buy a RVA shirt for one of her friends! So we went along for the ride haha! We made the most of it though. While she was getting what she needed we handed out a restoration pamphlet and a few cards to random people! It was super random but kinda fun to walk around the airport and talk to people!

NEW YEARS EVE
New years eve was a blast!! During our P-day hours last week we took 2 hours to do some service! It was a lot of fun and a great way to end the year! We had to be in our apartments by 6 that evening so Sister Benson and I had our own little party haha! We picked up some food on our way home and had a little picnic in our front room and of course got some sparking cider! That night we also had a big zone video chat and talked about all the miracles we have seen this year! It was so good to hear all the miracles our mission has seen over the last year and how we have strengthened our relationship with the Lord! It was a great way to end the year!! :) I also got my own firework show lol! Sister Benson got some glow sticks and put on a pretty fantastic firework show! Haha she's just the best!:)

THE MEIER FAMILY
Oh the Meiers! I just love them!! They are a part member family that we have been working with the last few weeks! The husband and 9 year old aren't baptized so we are working with them! We had a lesson with them this week and we invited some members in our ward to come with us! The members are awesome and just ended up inviting us and the Meier family over for dinner! It was so good! The two families clicked right away and all the kids got along so well! We taught the Restoration to all of the adults and it went super well! We invited them all to pray about the Book of Mormon and they all agreed to do it! We also showed a quick video to all the kids! The Meiers baby got blessed in church yesterday and that was such a special experience!

DONNA
So a few days ago we were just doing some weekly planning and we got a random call from a number we didn't know. I answered it and it was a lady named Terresa. She is a member of the Mechanicsville ward and told us that a few days ago she met a lady in the grocery store. The lady that she met was Donna. Donna is a convert to the church and even got sealed in the temple! She hasn't been active in years and also got divorced a few years ago but wants to become active again! We looked up her address and got a cute young couple to go visit her with us! She was so happy to see us and she is so excited to start coming back to church! She said that all she wants is to be temple worthy again! We got her a ride to church and she just smiled the whole time! We got her a Come Follow Me pamphlet and some new scriptures! She is one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met!

EXCHANGES
We had exchanges with the STLs this week!! It was a blast! I was with Sister Sanchez and we had so much fun together! We laughed a lot, did some tracting, contacted some cool people, met a 100 year old lady and taught a cool woman named Zo! The lesson with Zo was definitely the highlight! It was such a good lesson! The spirit was so strong and Zo was crying, it was a powerful lesson!

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT
At the end of every night Sister Benson and I listen to the song I Am a Child of God by the Bonner family! We started doing it because we just love that song and it's a fun one to sing at the top of your lungs haha! But as we have listened to it every night I've really been pondering on the words. We really are all Children of God. He loves us so individually and knows us very intimately. It's really incredible when you start to think about it. No matter where you are, no matter what you've done, no matter what you look like, no matter how rich or poor you are, no matter what... he KNOWS YOU & LOVES YOU!

I love ya'll so much! Thanks for all the love and support!

P.S. I bought some pants today and I'm pretty excited about it haha! ;)
