Snowed in?!?

Hello to my favorite people!!

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas here in Virginia! Yesterday we had a pretty awesome snow storm and we weren't allowed to drive anywhere from 3:30 in the afternoon yesterday until noon today. I was kinda bummed because we had some awesome lessons planned last night that we had to cancel! But not going to lie it was pretty nice to have a night to just stay inside and study and relax a little bit!

WORK DAY/ALL DISTRICT COUNCIL

On Tuesday we had a super fun day! We had an all district council with all the districts in our zone, interviews with President Smith and a work day with the STLs and Sister Smith! It was so much fun! I learned a lot from the all district council and loved learning from other missionaries! And I just love interviews with President Smith! He's the best mission President out there!! Then Sister Church and I got to go tracting with Sister Smith and wow that was so fun!! She's the cutest lady and we saw lots of miracles as we went tracting with her! We even met a family with 5 kids that just moved here a couple of months ago and wants us to go back and teach them!! It was a super fun day and I learned a lot!!

EXCHANGES

We had exchanges this week and I was with Sister Kent!! She's just the cutest!! We had so much fun together! She loves Christmas as much as I do so we had lots of fun listening to Christmas music and making hot chocolate Haha! Sister Kent is so happy all the time and an incredible missionary! I learned a lot from her!!❤

NATIVITY EXHIBIT

This week we got to be part of an amazing nativity exhibit! It was beautiful!! There were TONS of nativitys from all around the world! It was so fun to see so many different cultures represented in nativitys! Sister Church and I are also part of the ward Christmas choir so we got to sing at this event too!! It was a super fun night!!

JAY

This week we had a super awesome lesson with Jay! He was taught by the Elders a while ago, and when we switched areas Sister Cunningham and I taught him once. We lost contact with him for a few months and just recently started talking with him again! We had a lesson Wednesday night with him and it was oh so good!! We brought some awesome members with us and the spirit was so strong! We answered a lot of questions he had and taught off of what he needed. We talked about Joseph Smith and the Restoration of the Church with him and as I recited the first vision the spirit was so strong it that room! I was trying to hold my tears in, it was incredible! At the end of the lesson Jay bore his testimony of the church and how it can change his life. He has a few things he needs to work through but I have a feeling something amazing will happen with Jay very soon!

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT

This time of year is just the best to be a missionary! Everyone is a little more open to learning about Jesus Christ and more willing to go out and serve! I have loved planning for and doing activities for Light the World this month! I've loved feeling the pure joy that comes from serving others as Christ would! “God does notice us, and he watches over us. But it is usually through another person that he meets our needs. Therefore, it is vital that we serve each other....Brothers and sisters, we each have a covenant responsibility to be sensitive to the needs of others and serve as the Savior did—to reach out, bless, and uplift those around us. Often, the answer to our prayer does not come while we’re on our knees but while we’re on our feet serving the Lord and serving those around us." -President Spencer W. Kimball. I loved this quote and feel it is so true! As we go out and serve others we can be an answer to their prayer and as a result get answers to our own prayers! I invite each of you to look for opportunities to serve and bless those around you this Christmas season!
