Happy December!❤

Hello!!

Christmas music season is finally here! You better believe I'm singing Christmas music all the time! I hope everyone is enjoying this Christmas season and focusing on the true meaning of Christmas!!❤

LIGHT THE WORLD

Light the World has officially begun! Starting with the World wide day of service on December 1st! As a ward we have planned an event for each week of December to help light our world, community, family and faith! We also did an awesome service project to participate in the worldwide day of service. On Saturday morning we went to an older couples home, they have over 50 trees on their property which means they have A LOT of leaves to rake! The older gentleman who lives at this house is currently in the hospital, he fell off his roof while trying to get some leaves down and has some pretty major brain injuries. His wife isn't physically able to get the work done, they really needed our help! We ended up filling over 120 bags of leaves that day!! It was a blast! Service truly bring the most JOY!!

FASTING MIRACLES

Yesterday, our mission fasted together to reach our yearly baptism goal of 280 convert baptisms! And we had an awesome miracle happen while doing this! We had a super busy day with church, choir practice (haha), lessons with the people we are teaching and appointments with members. We ended up only having about 10 minutes to tract! We picked a street and said a very specific prayer before we knocked on a couple doors. I pointed to the house at the end of the street and felt like we really needed to knock on that door! That ended up being the only door we knocked on last night and we met Melvin! We taught him a little bit about the Book of Mormon, gave him a copy and he told us he wanted us to come back! We set up a return appointment and invited him to read a little bit of the Book of Mormon and pray about it before we come back! It was so cool!! Specific prayers + fasting = MIRACLES!

THE LIVING CHRIST

As a mission we are memorizing the Living Christ before our Christmas devotional. We will all recite it together at that devotional! I've loved starting to memorize it this week! I love the Savior! He has done everything for us and He should be the focus of our lives. I would invite each of you to read through and study the Living Christ this Christmas season! I know it will help you strengthen your relationship with the Savior and your appreciation for the Atonement!!

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT

My spiritual thought this week comes from the First Presidency Christmas Devotional last night! I hope you all got a chance to watch it, if not I encourage you to do so because it was so so good!! President Nelson explained 4 gifts that the Lord has offered to all who are willing to accept them. The four gifts are an unlimited capacity to love others, the ability to forgive, repentance, and a promise of life everlasting! I'm so very grateful for each of these gifts! I've felt the effect of each of them in my life and I know as each of us continually repent daily and strive to be more like the Savior we can feel the effects of these gifts in a greater capacity! The Lord loves us. The Lord forgives us. The Lord wants to help us. The Lord knows us individually. And the Lord knows EXACTLY how you feel no matter what you might be going through. Please turn to the Lord and thank Him for all the gifts He has given to you.
