THE HAM SISTERS ARE STAYING TOGETHER!!
Hello!!!
It's been another great week in Virginia!! This week is transfers...Sister Cunningham and I are both staying in Aquia for another transfer and we are so excited!!❤ We were praying so hard that we would stay together another transfer!! We are a little bit excited to say the least haha!! This week the Lord has definitely humbled us though. Last week was full of miracles and this week almost all of our appointments have cancelled on us. But we are keeping a positive attitude and making the most of it!!
TORNADO'S?
Last Monday evening as we were getting ready to go visit some members we got a text from our Mission President saying that there have been tornado warnings all day and we needed to stay in our apartment all night. It was pretty stormy outside but apparently there was a tornado in Richmond! We had a pretty fun night stuck in our apartment haha! We made a pretty sweet music video to the children's version of "I hope they call me on a mission", and had a missionary movie night. We popped some popcorn, got out our milk duds and wrapped up in our Minky blankets on the couch. We watched all the Addiction Recovery videos on gospel library! Haha it felt so weird to be so lazy for a whole day but it was a nice little mental break! ;)
EXCHANGES X2
This week we went on two different exchanges! On Wednesday we got to go on an emergency exchange with Sister Ray and Sister Isacson! Long story short...they weren't allowed to drive for a couple days and needed some help! So I got to drive their car for a day!! It was so nice to drive again!! Sister Isacson and I drove their car and worked in their area for the day while Sister Ray was companions with Sister Cunningham!! It was so much fun!! Sister Isacson and I had two different lessons that night and they both went super well!! And we had dinner with some awesome members!! But guess what they served us for dinner?...Shrimp! Guess who's allergic to shrimp...Me! I felt so bad not eating but I didn't want to end up sick all night haha. Then on Friday we had exchanges with the STL's!! I was with Sister Gimmeson for the day and she is the BEST! I had so much fun with her and learned a lot!! We talked to a lot of really cool people and shared a lot of fun stories with each other. She has been out for a little over a year and she's praying that at conference they announce that sisters can stay out for 2 years instead of 18 months!! She loves being a missionary and taught me so many things while I spent the day with her!!
NEW CAR!!
This week we got a call from one of the senior missionaries in our mission. He had some pretty exciting news for us!! He told us to meet him at the church building and guess what was there for us?? A brand new 2018 Nissan Rogue just for us!! It is SO nice!! We were freaking out!! We get a little spoiled on a mission to say the least haha!!
BEN
Last week we put Ben on date to be baptized on September 30th. We met with him last night and he told us that is too soon. We were a little bummed but he said he can be ready by October 20th!! We had such a great lesson with him last night and the spirit was so so strong!! His wife is a member and she was talking about how she really wants to be able to go to the temple with Ben. As we talked about the blessings of the temple he started to get so excited about it!! He is so awesome and so ready to make this step of baptism! We are just so excited for him and his family!!
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT
This week I have really been pondering the Atonement!! James E. Faust said "We long for the ultimate blessing of the Atonement - to become one with Him, to be in His divine Presence, to be called individually by name as He warmly welcomes us home with a radiant smile, beckoning us with open arms to be enfolded in His boundless love. How gloriously sublime this experience will be if we can feel worthy enough to be in His presence! The free gift of His great atoning sacrifice for each of us is the only way we can be exalted enough to stand before Him and see Him face-to-face. The overwhelming message of the Atonement is the prefect love the Savior has for each and all of us. It is a love which is full of mercy, patience, grace, equity, long-suffering, and, above all, FORGIVING". I'm so grateful for the Atonement and I absolutely love teaching people about it! Our Savior loves us so much! More than we can ever comprehend and he wants us to be happy and trust in Him. I like to think of the painting of Christ knocking on a door. There is no door knob but he is always waiting there for us to let Him in! So let Him in!! This week I also read the talk "The Way" by Lawrence E. Corbridge from the October 2008 General Conference and wow!! I highly recommend reading it!! It was an incredible talk!!
Well that's about all that happened this week! The highlight of the week was finding out that Sister Cunningham and I get to stay together another 6 weeks!! We are SO excited!! I hope ya'll have a great week!! Love you❤
Love,
Sister Stringham :)
